Well, what can I tell you?
It was HORRIBLE and AMAZING at the same time. I hated the job, but I loved the people and the environment. When I first heard about the position from a friend, I was so excited. The opportunity to try something new, without help or guidance, something for myself, was far too tempting. Also, I wanted to make some money to buy my first car. So I just jumped into the job and I do not regret I at all.
However, I discovered that working on a call center is NOT for me. Sitting in a chair, taking calls for nine hours and trying to get clients to give me their cc number was driving me insane. I hated it! Sometimes, I'd sit there fore five hours or so and not made any sale. I'd go to the bathroom and cry from frustration. It was hard as hell for me since I am used to being good at almost anything I try (not trying to brag here). The only thing that made it okay was my coworkers. They were so amazing with me; they treated me as if I've been a part of their family forever although I was just the new kid ( yes, everyone there was older than me). The sense of belonging made me feel great and the friendly competition going on over who made more sales was fun!
During my second week, I earned a diploma. I was elated with happiness because that meant I was doing a good job so far. It made me feel special and cherished when everyone congratulated me. I also has the opportunity to talk to some clients like Alberta and Mr. Claude, who changed my life forever. These people where so kind to me and shared such beautiful words of winsome that they made me cry. They will be in my hear forever because they left an undeleatable mark in it. Customers like them made those nine hours so worth it!
My working experience is something I wouldn't change if I could. I learned so much during that time; things that will help me in my future. Now, I value money more because I now the hard work it takes to earn it, especially if you do not like your job. When I enter college this summer, I will find another job, but this time, I'll make sure to like what I do.
P.S. Here's a pic of my diploma🙆
Regards,
Laura❤️
